Jasmine

The name “Jasmine” comes from the Persian word Yasmin, meaning “gift of God.” Unlike other flowers that seek the limelight, jasmine is the star of the night. Native to the tropical regions of the Himalayas and the Far East, it arrived in the West via the Silk Road, first conquering the gardens of the Arab caliphs and, centuries later, the colonial courtyards of Mexico.
